Navigating Account Challenges on BOOKOFF Online
โ ๏ธ Cannot log in to your account
Cause: Incorrect email or password, or an unregistered account.
Solution: First, double-check your email address and password for any typos. If you've forgotten your password, use the 'Recover password' link on the login page. You will typically receive an email with instructions to reset it. If you're still unable to access your account, ensure you have completed the new member registration process.
โ ๏ธ Payment method declined
Cause: Using a foreign credit card on the Japanese site, or issues with card details/limits.
Solution: We understand that payment issues can be frustrating. BOOKOFF Online primarily supports Japanese credit cards and GMO deferred payment for direct purchases. If you are an international customer attempting to pay directly, your foreign card might be declined. The fastest fix is to use a Japanese proxy shopping service such as ZenMarket or Buyee Connect, as they handle the payment on your behalf using local Japanese methods. Alternatively, some users report success with specific digital prepaid cards linked to Japanese payment systems.
โ ๏ธ Items not shipping internationally
Cause: BOOKOFF Online's direct shipping policy is limited to Japan.
Solution: If you are shopping from outside Japan and your order isn't proceeding to international shipping, it's because BOOKOFF Online does not offer direct international delivery. To get your items, you must utilize a reputable proxy shopping service like ZenMarket, Buyee Connect, or Remambo. These services purchase the items for you in Japan and then arrange for international shipment to your location.
Keeping Your BOOKOFF Online Account Secure
- ๐ Always use a strong, unique password for your BOOKOFF Online account. Avoid using the same password across multiple platforms.
- ๐ Be cautious of phishing attempts. Always verify that you are on the legitimate bookoffonline.jp website before entering your login credentials or personal information.
- ๐ Regularly review your account activity for any unfamiliar purchases or changes to your profile.
- ๐ When using proxy services for international purchases, ensure they are well-regarded and have clear privacy and security policies for handling your information and payments.
